San Rafael PorchFest! Rocking in the Rain!

Despite the downpour, the neighborhood rallied to produce another spectacular PorchFest event. After a 2 year hiatus nothing could dampen the enthusiasm. Over 50 bands on 20 porches were enjoyed by over a thousand friends and neighbors, all supported by an army of volunteers working from dawn til late into the evening to pull it all off. Our own porch was home to 4 performing groups: Karaj Lost Coast, the & Friends band (one of them brought me an incredible tomato from his San Anselmo tomato farm - wow! Thanks, Jerry!), the incredibly talented Christa Pfeiffer, and our very own Whiskey Rebellion.

Just a few photos from the big day. Bagpipe photo by Scott Woods.

Porch 18! We kept the fire going all day so neighbors could stay warm!

Poster for 100th Birthday Project

PorchFest was a great opportunity to introduce the 100th Birthday Project to the neighborhood.

Gerstle Park is filled with older, some of them historic, homes. While full of wonderful character, many could use some energy efficient upgrades. Many were curious to hear about the project and learn more about what they could do to their own houses.

What a wonderful day! We can’t wait for PorchFest 2023!
