Clean Energy for All
Just a few days ago the Biden Administration launched a new website, CleanEnergy.gov. It serves as a central hub to help Americans navigate the new green energy tax credits contained in the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. The new website is designed to save Americans money on new appliances, cars, and home upgrades, while steering them towards cleaner, more efficient projects.
You can click on a section of the home to see how you can save money, or click on a family like yours to see how the tax credits can work for you. For me, I’m considering purchasing an electric car in the next couple of years, but finding out which cars are actually eligible for the $7,500 tax credit is confusing. New IRS rules require the car’s final assembly to take place in the United States, and the source of the battery components matters. Details still being worked out and more is sure to change with California’s new law that bans sales of new gasoline powered cars in 12 years. you can sign up on the new CleanEnergy.gov website for updates.
