This photo was taken in my neighborhood last Sunday afternoon! Looks like everyone’s prayers for rain really worked! After months of keeping a bucket in the shower to collect water for my new fig tree, suddenly we’re out in the back yard frantically clearing a blocked drain while fielding calls from clients seeking emergency roofers. The good news? The storm provided a great opportunity to see our water management systems in action, both at home and in the community. Now I know that the drain that works great in normal conditions can back up in a deluge, so having some sandbags on hand is a good idea. Did you discover any surprises where you live?
