Moving to Compass | Market Update | Green Home Tour 2025
After some good years at Vanguard Properties I decided to move real estate brokerages to Compass! Many of my friends and colleagues have moved to Compass in the past few years and raved about the best in class technology and support for both agents and clients. I decided to give it a close look and wow, they were right! From the Compass One dashboard to the Private Exclusive listings, the resources for buyers and sellers are impressive. Being part of a national brokerage with a large market share gives me access to training and networking opportunities that I didn't know were possible. I'm thrilled about the change and excited to provide more and better resources to serve my clients. There's so much to share that it will take a few newsletters to cover it all.
Market Update
As of early August, measures of economic volatility and uncertainty had fallen from the extreme highs of this past spring, stock markets hit new highs, consumer confidence continues to tick up, and interest rates dropped to their lowest point in 2025. If improvements in economic indicators continue (and issues like inflation and employment don’t deteriorate,) and if the dramatic effects of the AI boom in Silicon Valley and San Francisco begin to filter out to surrounding counties, we are likely to see quite an uptick in market activity in the coming months.
Compass’ comprehensive market reports use 12 months of data from the Multiple Listings Service (MLS) broken down by city, town and region. Click on the buttons to see the flipbooks for each region.
Marin Green Home Tour
Saturday, September 27
11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Some of you may remember last fall when the 100th Birthday Project, my family's effort to make our 1924 home green-certified by the 100th anniversary of the original construction, was on the virtual Marin Green Home Tour. The tour is back for 2025, in partnership with Acterra: Action for a Healthy Planet. This time it's live and in person, with far more homes on the tour. Tour participants can visit homes in their own communities, talk to the homeowners, and see sustainability in action. The 100th Birthday Project is on the tour once again, so if you are interested in seeing a 100 year old sustainable bungalow in San Rafael or any of the other homes, go to Marin Green@Home Tour 2025 for your free tickets.
Photo Contest
No one guessed the location of our July photo! This image is of the sculpture Seeing Spheres by artist Olafur Eliasson, located outside the Chase Center. Not only home to the Golden State Warriors, the Chase Center features 100+ pieces of original art plus photographs, posters and more. This summer the Chase Center has hosted the inaugural season of the Golden State Valkyries, the WNBA's first expansion team in 17 years, currently poised to win a spot in the WNBA playoffs. In other amazing women's sports news, Bay FC, the Bay Area's first professional women's soccer team who had their inaugural season in 2024, broke records with over 40,000 attendees at Oracle Park last Saturday. It was the highest attendance for a National Women's Soccer League match since its founding in 2013, and we were there! If you haven't been to a game I encourage you to check it out. It's so much fun!
I hope you enjoyed the Green Realtor News! If you know anyone buying or selling, or if you are curious to hear more about the market, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to help you or your friends make moves. As one of my happy clients loves to say:
