Lucinda Otto is an experienced realtor working in San Francisco and Marin County, California. She holds a Green Designation from the National Association of Realtors. She loves to help people identify upgrades, large and small, that can make their homes more healthy, comfortable, durable and resource efficient. Using the GreenPoint Rating System developed by Build It Green of California, homeowners can certify their house as a green home, increasing the value when it's time to sell. For buyers seeking an environmentally friendly home, Lucinda is a fantastic resource. Her own green home in San Rafael is a work in progress. Follow along on her blog.
Lucinda is a seventh-generation Californian and a Bay Area native. Before working in real estate she was a drama teacher, playwright and theatre director with a strong background in education and community organizing. She was an artist-in-residence in the San Francisco Unified School District for many years and directed dozens of plays and musicals with youth and adults. She holds a Masters degree from Stanford University in Arts Education and Curriculum Design and was the Director of the Bay Area Teachers Center, a secondary teacher credentialing program at San Francisco State. Her project during the Shelter-In-Place order was to create a cooking show called Quaranteen Canteen - in which her family participated with varying degrees of enthusiasm. Check it out on her Vimeo page.
She is a co-producer of Tiny Talks Mill Valley, a community building event that brings 8 speakers together to talk for 8 minutes each on a theme, then invites the audience to join the conversation. Returning to Mill Valley SOON when the shelter-in-place order is no longer needed.
